We’re super-excited to announce the arrival of our Vegan Friendly range of footwear. The decision to create a collection of animal-friendly footwear comes on the back of seeing a 200% increase in online searches for vegan related products, especially ’vegan shoes’ and ‘vegan boots’.
Veganism is currently big news. Reports indicate that this January a record-breaking 250,000 people signed-up to Veganuary, and here at Love Hope and Glory, we are keen to offer a big slice of Vegan pie to our customers.
“42% of vegans in the UK are aged 15-34 so Gen Z is a key driving force in this movement. They are conscious shoppers who want to know where and how their products are made”, says Rachael Stott, senior creative researcher at trend agency The Future Laboratory
Back in February the very first vegan fashion week took place in Los Angeles. Whilst the undisputed street style hit of New York Fashion Week was a vegan leather puffer jacket by Budapest-based ‘it’ label, Nanushka
“Compassion, sustainability and innovation are shaping today’s fashion industry – and as the number of people adopting a vegan lifestyle keeps increasing, the industry is stepping up its cruelty-free game”, says Dominika Piasecka, spokeswoman for The Vegan Society.
Last year vegan footwear accounted for 16% of the total UK market, culminating this spring in Marks and Spencer launching a 350-strong vegan-friendly shoe collection.
“After increased customer interest in veganism and a rise in online searches for related products, we decided to investigate the possibility of expanding our vegan-friendly offering into footwear and accessories”, says Senior Footwear Technologist, Rachel Smith.
Celebrities are keen to support the Vegan vibe. Madonna and Meghan Markle have both been spotted in Stella McCartney’s Stan Smith Adidas trainers, with Emma Thompson sporting a pair when she collected her damehood from Buckingham Palace.
We’ve kicked off our Vegan collection with an amuse bouche of handcrafted Vegan Friendly boots, with Vegan Leather bags to follow soon.

I'm coming over all tartan today. Call it early Hogmanay vibes. Especially looking back to New Year 2014, and the Vienna State Ballet as dressed by the fabulous Vivienne Westwood.
The VSB performed at Liechtenstein Palace as part of the Vienna Philharmonic’s New Year’s Day concert.
Oh Vivienne how we love you!
